Trim Levels - 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport - Denver Area
Vehicle Overview
After 10 years of production, the Mitsubishi finally got a much-needed rework to its exterior design, as well as a new touchscreen display. The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport hasn't been completely redesigned yet in its 10 year existence, despite being Mitsubishi's best-selling model within the United States. Today, the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is a force to be reckoned with, regardless of trim levels.

Exterior - 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
The new exterior design was first revealed at the Geneva Auto Show in Switzerland. The rework to the exterior took inspiration from many of the Mitsubishi Eclipse's exterior pieces including slimmer headlights, new turn signal elements, wider fog lights, and a new skid plate. Interior - 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport near Denver CO
The interior design of the 2020 Outlander Sport remains largely unchanged from the previous model years. However, Mitsubishi updated some of the materials used on the interior to be softer to the touch, and they included new chrome-looking accents sporadically throughout the interior. Additionally, this model has more cargo space than most other subcompact SUVs. Lowering the rear seats raises this figure to a maximum of 49.5 cubic feet.

Mechanical - Mitsubishi Outlander Sport specs near Denver
A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes up to 148 horsepower is the standard engine for the 2020 Outlander Sport. This engine, with front-wheel drive, averages 24 city and 30 highway miles per gallon. Adding the optional all-wheel drive drops both of these figures by 1 mpg. This engine is suitable for most driving situations. However, most people opt into the optional 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, which makes 168 horsepower. This engine is quieter and accelerates at a higher rate than the other, making highway operation easier and more fluid. This engine gets 1 highway mpg less than the base engine, with or without all-wheel drive.

Safety - 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport dealer
At the time of this writing, no reputable source has crash-tested the 2020 Outlander Sport. While exterior changes were made to this model, the dimensions and frame remain mostly the same as the 2019 model year, so we can expect the safety scores to fall in line near where the 2019 model was. So, the 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport got decent safety scores when it was tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Unfortunately, the only piece of standard safety technology is a rearview camera. Other advanced safety features are available on the model, depending on the trim levels.
