Max fuel efficiency is a major goal on the roads of Denver. In our last post, we shared some simple tricks to improve your gas mileage. We're back with a few more ways your driving and maintenance habits can help you go further on a tank of gas.

  • A cold engine is an inefficient engine. If you have multiple errands to run, try to combine them all into one trip to prevent your engine from cooling down.
  • When you follow someone closely, you find yourself braking and speeding up more frequently with their changes in speed. But every time you accelerate, your engine uses more fuel. Increase your following distance to give yourself more room to coast down to the right speed, and you won't have to reaccelerate as frequently.
  • Believe it or not, your tires affect your fuel efficiency. Bald, damaged, or underinflated tires require more energy from your engine to get rolling. Have your tires rotated routinely to keep tread wear spread out evenly, which increases the efficiency and lifespan of all four tires.

If your gas mileage is suffering from bald or damaged tires, shop for a new set from the Mitsubishi Tire Center. We'll help you find the perfect set for your Mitsubishi model. Contact the Service Center here at Skyline Mitsubishi to have your new tires mounted and balanced onto your vehicle.
