The most important aspect to your vehicle's tires is easily the tread pattern on them. The tread is what contacts the road, which is why your tires suffer from some of the most severe wear and tear. It is also what gives your car, truck, or SUV traction while you drive, so keeping it in appropriate shape and monitoring its condition is extremely important.
This is especially true during the rainy season when the roads are slick. Without the right amount of tread, the water can't be displaced properly, which can cause you to hydroplane and spin out when coming off a stop light. The best way to ensure that your tread stays in good shape is to do regular tire rotations every 3,000 to 5,000 miles, and to continuously monitor the PSI in your tires to make sure that they are at the recommended level. Having your tires over or under inflated can cause uneven wear, and even damage.
When damage does occur, bring your vehicle into our service department here at Skyline Mitsubishi and let us do a tire rotation and inspection for you.
