We here at our Thornton, CO dealership absolutely love the new 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander. We already told you all about the SUV's affordability, both to buy and own, but that doesn't mean Mitsubishi is lacking in other areas.

One area where the new Outlander really sticks out is its safety. It's on the smaller side for an SUV, sure, but it also comes with some cool technological features that help you while driving, particularly around urban areas.

In stop and start traffic, which we're sure many of you experience if you're commuting daily around the Denver, CO area, the Forward Collision Mitigation System helps immensely. Using radar technology, this safety feature judges the distance and relative speed of the vehicle in front of you and warns you if you're not applying your brakes quickly or hard enough. Even if the system doesn't illicit a response from the driver, the FCM will automatically - and gently - apply the brakes.

The Lane Departure Warning system uses a camera mounted near the rearview mirror that senses when a vehicle is drifting out of a lane. This is meant for when a drowsy or distracted driver begins to drift, rather than when appropriately using your turn signals to change lanes. The system can also be turned off after starting your Outlander.

Come by Skyline Mitsubishi to learn more about the safety features in the new Outlander. We'll be happy to set up a test drive and discuss loans and lease options with you.
