At Skyline Mitsubishi, one new Mitsubishi model we've been tracking vigorously is the Mitsubishi Mirage. The compact hatchback is quite popular in the automaker's homeland of Japan, and in many other parts of the world. At the recent Montreal Auto Show this January, we were able to see the Mirage for the first time on North American soil, and that got us quite excited.

Even though we still aren't sure if Mitsubishi will bring the Mirage to the United States in addition to Canada, we remain hopeful. While much of the vehicle we've seen across the pond remains intact, there are a few changes.

One, believe it or not, is the name. Mitsubishi said they are not sure what the vehicle will be called. They still might call it the Mirage, but they might not. Either way, it doesn't take away from the excitement of the model.

The new Mirage is three inches longer than ones sold overseas, and that's due to a new rear fascia plus a few alterations in the design language. Also, the North American-bound Mirage sports a larger 1.2-liter, three-cylinder engine, whereas the original only uses 1.0-liters.
