Japanese automaker, Mitsubishi, is headed toward greener pastures - figuratively and quite possibly literally. Specifically, they're evolving their brand identity, and likewise their vehicle lineup, to respectively represent a green-car pioneer.

It's true, Mitsubishi, best known for its carefree, sporty cars is carving a niche for themselves as dedicated specialist in the realm of alternative powerplants...You're right to think a lot of what the brand represents is going to change.

Skyline Mitsubishi, quite honestly thinks it's for the best, knowing the company plans to retain that carefree edge, we've all come to love. In a way, with little to now reliance on gasoline and an almost indistinguishably light footprint, forthcoming Mitsubishi vehicles will be some of the company's most carefree, yet.

When will the lineup start changing? Well, it already has, with three models slated for retirement - including the Endeavor and Eclipse this month. Mitsubishi's new breed of cars will begin taking the outgoing models places, starting this November, with the launch of the "i" EV. And, we can look forward to a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport hybrid in roughly another two years after that. In total, Skyline Mitsubishi anticipates Mitsubishi will introduce eight new hybrid and electric vehicles by 2015.

If you're interested in learning more about the forthcoming Mitsubishi Outlander Sport plug-in hybrid, be sure to stay tuned.  While few specs are available now, Skyline Mitsubishi promises to keep you up to date as Mitsubishi releases additional details...hopefully soon. And, remember, in the mean time, the conventional gas-powered Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is still available at Skyline Mitsubishi, serving the greater Denver area. Integrated with a mix of sporty and urban styling as well as voice recognition, stability control, satellite receivers, the LATCH system among other safety and convenience technologies, it starts at under $18,500.
