The Final Mitsubishi Eclipse Auctioned Off

The final Mitsubishi Eclipse sports coupe will be auctioned off to one lucky charity.

Mitsubishi is auctioning the car at the 2011's St. Charles Auction, built by Mitsubishi North America as a special edition Coupe. The SE comes with a 3.8-liter V6. Production of the coupe began in 1989. For 22 years, the vehicle was one of the best selling Japanese import sports cars in North America.

News that Mistubishi planed to pull the plug on the Eclipse, Endeavor and Galant by 2014 broke this January.  Somehow, simply knowing that we had a good three years to enjoy the models made the news a little easier to swallow. Mitsubishi March Sales Up 39%

Mitsubishi Motors North America, which boasts quality dealerships including Skyline Mitsubishi, reported March 2011 sales of 7,560 units; which is an increase of over 39% compared to March 2010. It was Mitsubishi's largest month of sales since August 2008.
